A view of Whitby in Yorkshire, which was probably taken in 1953.
In the foreground of the picture are fishing nets laid out on poles which are presumably being checked for holes, or possibly being dried after a fishing run. I don't know what the boat in the river with a long boom is doing - can anyone help with that?
