  1. The picture is of a Buddhist temple, known in the 1960s as Siang Lim Sze Temple, now Siong Lim Temple or Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery, in Tao Pao, Singapore. It is the oldest Buddhist Monastery in Singapore having been founded in 1898, building commenced 1902 and the whole complex completed in 1907. It was completely renovated in the 1990s. I have a similar photo from the mid 1960s when my father was stationed at RAF Seleter. This was one of the places the wives visited on their outings. This photo also looks like it was taken on such a visit.
