The Heros' Square monument in Budapest in the 1960s

The Heros' square monument in Budapest photographed from behind the opening.

This is another picture of the monument, taken on quite a grey day in the 1960s. It is surprising that there are so few cars about in all these pictures of this area in the series - I wonder if this is because the pictures were taken on a particular day when people didn't drive much (Sunday?) or if it is just a reflection of the fact that there were fewer cars about in the 1960s?

This picture shows the main, tall tower in the centre of the square and the gateway with the chariots. It is unfortunate that the picture is a bit marred by dirt and slightly underexposed which has increased the grain and noise in the picture.
