Boats moored on the shore of a Lake - c1961

This Kodachrome image shows boats moored at the side of one of the lakes in Europe. There is a clock at the water's edge which shows the time was 4:50 in the afternoon when this picture was taken, and I believe it was from a boat just leaving the shore on a lake tour.

Many of the slides in this series have a location or other notes written on the mount, but this slide is completely free of all markings, including the processing date, so I can only guess at the location and date. The date is easier to pin down than the location - I'm pretty sure this picture was taken in the early 1960s. The cars parked at the water's edge all seem to be models from the late 1950s to early 1960s, and since other slides in the series are from that date it would seem to confirm it.

The location is somewhat harder. When I started this post I assumed this was in Switzerland because so many of the series are, but when I looked more closely I noticed that at the far end of the quayside is a flag flying, and it seems to be a French flag. This makes me think that possibly this is on the French shore of Lake Geneva. At the moment, if you look at the location (using the View Photo Data button) you will see that it is therefore in the middle of Lake Geneva - if you can supply a more accurate location let me know and I'll change it.

Update: I think the location is Piazza Roma, 4, 22060 Campione d'Italia CO, Italy. Thanks to the comment from ckrueger99 for finding this.
