Family celebration

This seems to be a picture of a couple taken during a family celebration of some sort. There are certainly holding a bottle of champagne, although it is a posed picture because the cork hasn’t been taken out yet. Taken with flash, this picture also had a strong colour cast which I has to try to remove in Lightroom after scanning.

Date wise it is difficult to be absolutely accurate, although I would say early 1960s is most likely. Interesting to see the cigarettes sitting in a glass on the mantlepiece ready for anyone to help themselves. Although people still smoke today of course it would be unusual to see them available in that way at a social event.
